Hello everyone. It has been a while since my last newsletter. With lots of personal stuff going on behind the scenes, it looks like my wife, and I are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It has been a tough 12 months, but things are looking much better with Jessica’s health improving each day. Thanks for all the support over the past few months. We both really appreciate it!!

And now, over to the latest MicroStrategy Product Updates…

MicroStrategy ONE (February 2024)

Not sure how many folks use it, but MicroStrategy just announced that the Jupyter extension will no longer be developed and supported. Furthermore, it will be removed from the mstrio-py package starting in MicroStrategy ONE (March 2024)

This was the only update “delivered” in February (I miss the days when we would receive dozens of features and fixes on a monthly basis)

MicroStrategy ONE (January 2024)

Back in January, MicroStrategy delivered some improvements to one of their new AI tools, Auto Answers. Specifically, improvements were delivered for time-related questions including time level transformations. The update distinguishes between Month and Month of Year and between Quarter and Quarter of Year.

This update is only for MicroStrategy Cloud customers. Nothing for on-premise customers, again.

MicroStrategy ONE (December 2023)

The big news for me with the December update was the announcement that MicroStrategy would be ceasing all development of the WORKSTATION tool for MAC OS. The tool will continue to receive updates for a few more months but will be killed off in the middle of this year. WorkStation will continue to be the primary MSTR tool, but only on Windows.

It’s difficult to believe that these are all the updates for the first two months of the year. Compared to previous years, this is quite a change in delivery cadence. Apparently, MicroStrategy has now moved away from a monthly cadence of delivering new features, to a Quarterly cadence. This should mean that the March 2024 Update could be jam packed with new features. Personally, I hope this release will deliver new features for their loyal on-premise customers, and not just their Cloud Customers. Some of us non-cloud customers are feeling a little neglected over the past few months…

Let’s see what happens later this month!!
