A new 2-part mini-series on “How to add custom shape files” into a MicroStrategy Dossier. Specifically, we are going to work with weather focused shape / KML files to produce something like you would see on the Weather slot on your local evening news.
In this first demo, I will show you where to source a “Wind Field Probability” shape file. I’ll also show you a quick tip on how to find a KML shape file when all you can download is a KMZ file.
In Part 2 we will do the fun stuff… Import the shape file into a MicroStrategy Dossier followed by some quick formatting to get the look that we need.
