A little early, but right on cue… MicroStrategy 2020 Update 2ย went to GA status Wednesday evening. I have already completed the upgrade process and will update this post with the features I discover which excite me the most.
Some initial items that are catching my attention right now…ย
- Looks like WORKSTATION got a make over with a new splash of color. I like it !!
- We now have a new side menu item “Scripts“. I think this is to do with R and PYTHON scripts that you can now store in the metadata. But, I need to check into that.
- WORKSTATION is certainly performing very well. Everything seems to render much faster that previous releases. Of course, I am running it on my new 16 core RYZEN 3950 machine with 32GB RAM.ย
- Free Form DOSSIERS have some cool new features. Most notable for me is the ability to nudge viz containers with your left/right/up/down keys on the keyboard. Additionally, clicking on a viz and then hitting the DEL key deletes the viz. Very nice enhancements for us designer / developer folk.
